Hearty Healthy Chili

It's almost time for the Super Bowl!!! We're not huge football fans in this house, but for some reason we usually end up hosting a Super Bowl party. On our 32 inch tiny TV! Haha! It's ok! It's more about the friendship for me anyway...oh, and the ads! I do love some good Super Bowl commercials!

Chili is an excellent meal to make for the big game. You can make it ahead of time and toss it in the crockpot, or just let it simmer on the stove and it's ready to go whenever you are!

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

If you think you don't like brussels sprouts, but you've never tried them roasted, you're seriously missing out! These mini-cabbage-things turn into a nutty, crunchy delicious treat that almost feel like eating candy! I'm not kidding!!!

Perfectly ImPerfect: Dishes

Hi there, world! I thought I'd do a series highlighting my imperfect-ness! There are SO many (maybe all) areas of my life that I feel like I should be perfect, but, sadly, I fall short. All. The. Time!! So...maybe you're out there feeling guilty because you feel like you should have achieved some sort of perfection, and yet, there you are, in your mid-thirties...not perfect. Well, hopefully I'll be an encouragement, and we can bond over our imperfection!

Freedom Friday!

Have you ever done something for so long that you thought that it would always be that way? Stuck in a rut, and it's never going to change?

Ghee

After my husband went dairy free, I was desperate to find an alternative to butter. I tried several substitutes including most of the Earth Balance vegan butters and Smart Balance. They were all...well...gross! I started reading ingredients and I just didn't want to substitute butter (which he couldn't have), for other things that we didn't WANT to have. So after some reading (and googling!), I discovered ghee!

Coconut Curry Chicken

A little over a year ago, my husband decided to try to eliminate gluten and dairy from his diet to see if it would improve some of his health issues. Unfortunately for me, it did! After years of making gluten-filled, dairy-laden delicious food, I had a new challenge in front of me. How to make gluten and dairy free food that actually TASTES good!

Garam Masala

So you want to make an Indian dish! Yay! Chances are your recipe calls for something called garam masala. You COULD go to the store, find out that they don't have it, drive to another store, discover they don't have it either, and eventually end up at Whole Paycheck Foods and trade your first born child for a spice!!
Save your first born and make it yourself! It's easy! If you only make even a few Indian dishes, you'll use several of the special spices that you'll have to buy to make this. So, no worries!
Here's what you need:
